Welcome to Source Realms¶
Source Realms is a geopolitics-themed Minecraft SMP. You found (or join) a nation, claim territory, build a government, trade and sign treaties with your neighbours — and if diplomacy fails, go to war over the land you both want.
The server is built to work for two kinds of players at once:
- The geopolitics crowd — walls, alliances, scheduled wars, reparations, a shifting map of who controls what.
- The builder/SMP crowd — a neutral nation can never be attacked and never attacks; it just gets on with building, with an even larger claim allowance than a warlike one. See Neutrality.
Both playstyles are first-class. Nobody is forced into a war they didn't choose.
Java or Bedrock, you're covered
Java players get clickable inventory menus for everything. Bedrock players (via Geyser/ Floodgate) get the exact same features through chat menus and forms. Every command in this wiki works identically on both — where a page says "open a menu," Bedrock players get the chat-based equivalent automatically.
Where do I start?¶
- Read Getting Started — the first few things to do after joining.
- Create or join a nation — nothing else opens up until you're in one.
- Decide whether your nation wants to be neutral or warlike — this is the single biggest fork in how the server plays for you.
- Skim the FAQ — it answers the questions players ask most.
Quick answers¶
Can't find something? These are the most-asked questions, answered in one line each:
| Question | Short answer |
|---|---|
| How do I create a nation? | /nation create <name> — see Creating & Joining. |
| Why can't I declare war? | Your nation (or theirs) is probably neutral. See Neutrality. |
| Why don't piglins/mobs drop gold? | Deliberate — gold only comes from mining or chest loot. See World Rules. |
| Why can't I make netherite gear? | It's locked behind maxing the Mining skill. See Skills & Progression. |
| What is this server about? | You're reading it — see above, and the rest of this wiki. |
| How do I manage member permissions? | Roles & Permissions. |
This wiki covers the Nations plugin and everything built on top of it. If something you're looking for isn't here, ask in Discord or in-game — and if the answer is missing, it should be added here.
